At ~20 months from clean sheet to first flight, including 5 months of sitting in the hangar waiting on paperwork, this was the fastest clean sheet development of a jet since 1946 (MiG-9), and 4th overall (P-59, P-80, MiG-9). It also made Hermeus the 19th US company to develop a jet aircraft from scratch.

While this may seem gentle and graceful, this is a 4+ ton hunk of metal, ripping down a dirt road at over 200 mph, being flown digitally from a mile away.
